A Mary Poppins Party would not bepractically perfect in every way without a spoonful of sugar birthday party cake pops! Mary Poppins is one of my all-time favorite Disney movies. Just ask my kids who have sat and watched this classic with me at least a billion times.

To get my kids more excited about Mary Poppins, I decided we should go all-in by baking up some special treats. After we made these, I thought “WOW! How perfect would these be for my birthday party?” Of course, I received a lot of laughs.

I soon realized I am not the only one who is crazy in love with Mary Poppins and cake pops. One of the things I love is themed-based cake pops. I also created these Pot of Gold cake pops too. So fun! This Disney Classic movie theme party will surely be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

The very first thing you are going to need to do is to mix your cake according to your package instructions.

Bake the cake. Again, follow the written instructions on the back of the box. Before we move on to our next step, it is important to let your cake cool completely.Once cooled, in a large bowl, crumble the cake.

After crumbling your cake, you can now add in the frosting.

I use a traditional creamy buttercream frosting. I haven’t tried making it with the whipped frosting, so I can’t tell you how it affects the texture. Mix the frosting and cake crumbles together thoroughly.

Next, lay a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet. Roll small cake balls and place them on your sheet. These cake pops are going to have to be a smaller pop in order to fit into your spoon.

Place the sheet in the freezer for about 20 minutes until they are set.

In a small bowl, melt the candy melts according to the package directions. This part is especially important. Don’t overheat.

As a result, you may actually cook the chocolate rather than melt it. Dip, one of your cake pops into the white candy coating. You want it to be evenly coated, but not dripping.

Sugar Birthday Party Cake Balls Rolling Tip:

If your cake mix is hard to roll into balls, place the bowl in the freezer for a few minutes! This will make it a whole lot easier to coat with frosting.

Add the sugar sprinkles and place them back on the cookie sheet. Complete this step until you have finished covering all your cake pops in sprinkles.

If your kids are helping make them with you, this would be the perfect time to let them dive in. Who doesn’t love sprinkles?

In your plastic spoon, place a drop of the white candy coating and before it hardens, place your cake pop. Finally, put the spoons on your baking sheet and freeze for a few minutes until it can set. (It won’t take long!)
